It is the metal casing to your computer. Although not always completely metal, in it’s simplest form it is the box that holds your computers components and power supply units.
Now, cheap computer cases have become a little more of a fashion accessory with neon lamps to light up the inside, huge windows cut into the case and many other modifications.
Well what makes good cheap computer cases then?
In my opinion it is enough space to hold all of your components and modifications and extra room to allow air to flow, which in turn helps with cooling.
This is not always the case however, you do have build quality to consider, space for how many case fans you want and the material it is made from. I think the Perspex clear cases are excellent.
Chief Tec have always made good cases, this one is no exception it is roomy inside for virtually any components you want to assemble into it.
One feature I really do like is that the door covers the drives so the colour doesn’t have to match your drives or vice versa. Coloured drives seem to be more expensive for no particular reason other then that they are coloured.
The build quality is also well done, as is the paintwork on it, not that I would expect anything less from the cheap computer cases by Chief Tec.
With the bundle you also receive a 500 watt power supply which is more then enough for today’s heavily laden machines. I am sure this is more then adequate for the next generation of hardware.
Remeber buying cheap computer cases and a power supply is not that cheap, and after all, you could get something better with the money.
Why not buy a quality case and power supply to begin with, one that will last and suit the next generation of hardware’s power needs.
For those on a budget but still want a good cheap computer case and PSU (power supply unit) I recommend the
PMI EZ-Media Budget Mid-Tower Case with P4 Ready 350W Power Supply
This is an excellent low cost computer case, it has enough room for all the regular user would need and want. Although it is smaller then the Chief Tec, good cooling can still be produced, as it has space for 3 case fans, 2 rear and 1 in the front.
The PSU (power supply unit) is enough for use of modern high current drawing equipment. It also meets the standard set by Intel for a Pentium 4 processor, which should be adequate for an AMD CPU as well.
